Emulsion Bloom marks the first visible moment when photographic gelatin lifts, softens, and begins to detach from its glass support. It is the threshold at which the image stops recording reality and begins to reshape itself through decay. This very destruction defines the century-old archive I work with—an archive completed not by preservation but by time, humidity, and loss. I extract figures, landscapes, and fragments from these damaged glass negatives and transform them into new contemporary works, allowing erosion to become the creative force behind rebirth, memory, and transformation.
