Azure Brotherhood and the Inverted Witness
60 × 80 cm (70 × 90 cm framed) · Digital composition (2023), printed on cotton canvas with acrylic intervention (2025)
Two young boys — perhaps brothers — stand side by side, their figures echoed by the presence of a mirrored, solitary character. The composition feels both intimate and distant, as if the past is remembering itself.
The background is washed in blue, an atmosphere of depth and quiet distance, while the figures are rendered in yellow — luminous, almost spectral. Acrylic paint is applied by hand, restoring a sense of tactility and life to forms that time had once begun to erase.
The “witness” appears inverted, as though observing from another plane — a reflection, a memory, or the shadow of someone once seen.
This work holds the tenderness of family, the mystery of identity, and the layered presence of those who remain even when their stories are lost.
