Sergis Adamos’s collections are developed from a privately held archive of deteriorated early twentieth-century glass negative plates. Damaged by time, humidity, chemical change, and accidental fusion, these plates form the foundation of a contemporary archive-based practice that moves between digital works, giclée prints, canvas works with acrylic intervention, and installation.

Rather than restoring the original photographs, Adamos works with their altered condition. Cracks, stains, corrosion, fused surfaces, erased faces, and fragmented details become active visual material. Through scanning, enlargement, digital manipulation, isolation, recomposition, and physical intervention, the archive is transformed into distinct bodies of work.
