2016 - 2017

After nearly a decade of uncertainty, the archive was legally entrusted to Sergis Adamos. During those years, he continued to develop his creative practice through publishing, curating, and independent artistic work.

At the close of 2017, having just wrapped up 'Risky Travels' for the European Capital of Culture, PAFOS2017, Sergis Adamos returned his attention to the glass plates scattered across the basement. The first scans revealed images that had been severely altered by humidity, time, and deterioration.

These first encounters did not yet form a complete artistic language, but they revealed the archive’s potential. The damaged plates held portraits, gestures, fragments, and accidental fusions that would later become central to the development of Metamorphosis.
