2023 — Creating Art

In 2023, Sergis Adamos continued developing several bodies of work within the Metamorphosis project, moving between completed collections, new experiments, and the growing need to document the archive in a more structured way.

During this period, he completed Almost Vanished Friends, a collection developed over several years from deteriorated and fused glass negatives. The work focused on isolated figures, altered faces, and damaged photographic surfaces, turning fragments of the archive into individual contemporary portraits.

He also expanded Strangers Forever, a series based on fused glass negatives in which unrelated figures, surfaces, and photographic traces merge into unstable compositions. The collection continued to explore the tension between recognition and disappearance, presence and loss.

Alongside these works, Adamos developed smaller related collections, including Join the Party, centred on a group of figures transformed through colour variations and facial intervention, and Out of Nowhere, which emerged from the deteriorated areas surrounding central figures and developed into imagined landscapes resembling aerial views.

The Metamorphosis 1/1 and Extracted Details collections also expanded in 2023. These works helped clarify the archive’s potential not only as a source for finished artworks, but also as a field of details, gestures, postures, objects, surfaces, and fragments that could later support a structured image bank.

By the end of 2023, the project had moved beyond individual artworks toward a broader system of documentation, categorisation, and future development. This shift would become important for the later evolution of Reloomnia and for the long-term archival and artistic direction of the project.
