2020 — Research
In 2020, Sergis Adamos presented an exhibition at Gloria Gallery in Nicosia during the early period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Cyprus Minister of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth, Prodromos Prodromou, whose presence marked an important public recognition of the project.
During the same year, Adamos continued his research into fused glass negatives, focusing on plates whose photographic surfaces had adhered to one another after decades of exposure to humidity and chemical deterioration. These accidental fusions produced layered compositions in which different images merged into a single unstable visual field.
This research also led to the beginning of his colour experiments, where selected areas of the damaged black-and-white plates were digitally altered to test how colour could intensify structure, depth, and psychological presence within the image.
