Join the Party

Join the Party emerged from the same fused-glass-negative research that shaped Strangers Forever. While working through a pair of fused plates, Sergis Adamos encountered a composition in which two female figures had almost disappeared, while a young man remained more visibly present within the damaged photographic surface.

The collection develops from this tension between visibility and erasure. Masks are introduced over the surviving figure’s face, not as decoration, but as a way to question identity, anonymity, performance, and disappearance. Through colour intervention, altered surfaces, and repeated variations, the work transforms a damaged archival image into a contemporary group of masked figures.

Join the Party extends the logic of Metamorphosis: the archive is not restored to its original state, but reactivated through damage, concealment, colour, and transformation.
